Two terrorists who carried out a shooting incident in Samaria this week were eliminated Saturday morning in an IDF operation in the Nur A-Shams refugee camp near Tulkarm.

The Islamic Jihad terrorists, Hamza Qaryush and Samar El-Shafi, had opened fire on Israeli cars near the settlement of Avnei Hefetz south of the city and were suspected of planning more shooting attacks on Israeli targets.

Special police forces invaded the terrorists’ hideout and, when they tried to escape over the roof, succeeded in killing them.

An IDF spokeswoman said that two other suspects in the incident were arrested: Mahmad Abad al-Fatah Balidi and Ibrahim Ahmad Kasba, ages 21 and 19, of Tulkarem. The two have been transferred for interrogation by the Shin Bet.

In the early-morning attack on Tuesday, the terrorists started shooting at several Israeli civilian vehicles outside the Samaria village of Avnei Hefetz.

An initial inquiry revealed that a Palestinian Authority-registered vehicle approached the Israeli vehicles from an adjacent Arab community.

The guy got out, started shooting at the Israeli cars, got back in, and took off. Despite the bullets severely damaging the automobiles, no one was hurt in the incident.
