27 feared dead in Osaka building fire

Twenty-seven people are feared dead when a huge intentional fire hit an eight-story building in Osaka, Japan that houses an internal medicine clinic, on Friday.

In the initial police investigation, the fire incident in the shopping and entertainment area of Kitashinchi is seen as arson.

The police said a witness saw a man carrying a paper bag that was leaking an unidentified liquid.

Sources said the police are now tracking the suspect as of this writing.

Osaka city fire department official Akira Kishimoto revealed 27 people were taken to nearby hospitals in cardiac arrest.

Sources added most of the victims are believed to be visitors at the clinic on the fourth floor.

It was learned that the building also houses other businesses, including an English language school.

Moreover, it was learned that the fire was extinguished after 30 minutes with the help of 70 fire engines.
