
Eight people died when a small private plane crashed Sunday afternoon into a vacant, two-story office building in a suburb in Milan, Italy.
An Italian newspaper reported that all the six plane passengers, a crew, and the pilot were all killed after the crash near a subway station in San Donato Milanese, a small town near Milan.
Initial reports state that the passengers of the ill-fated plane were French.
It was also reported that some cars in a nearby parking lot were set ablaze, but apparently, the vehicles were unoccupied at the time.
The report also states that a thick column of dark smoke rose from the crash site and was visible for kilometers.
Responding firefighters said the now-charred building was reportedly was under renovation when the crash occurred.
A deeper investigation of the crash is now underway.
