A 12-year-old boy is now shocked after he was hit on the head, kicked, and insulted by other teenagers in a park near his home in Tuscany, Italy on Tuesday.
According to reports, the Italian authorities are now investigating the anti-semitic attack in the town of Campiglia Marittima, near Livorno.
Sources said the suspect told the boy that he needs to be quiet because he is a Jew and that he should die in an oven a reference to Nazi death camps where Jews were murdered.
Liliana Segre, a Holocaust survivor who is senator-for-life, condemned the attack.
“These are things that amaze me, but unfortunately I am used to it,” said Segre, who was placed under police protection after receiving threats several years ago. “History repeats itself,” Segre, 91 said.
It was noted that anti-semitic incidents have been on the increase in Italy, in particular over the last half dozen years.
