A former FBI analyst was sentenced to almost four years in prison for illegally holding hundreds of sensitive papers as President Biden and his predecessor, Donald Trump, face criticism for their management of national secrets.
In a judgment made on Wednesday, the U.S. government sentenced Kendra Kingsbury of Garden City, Kansas, to three years and 10 months in federal prison.

The 50-year-old Kingsbury admitted confessing to two charges of unlawfully keeping documents related to national security back in October.
For example, the present trial of Donald Trump has similarities to Kingsbury’s case.
Kingsbury worked as an intelligence analyst for the FBI and earned a top-secret security clearance for more than 12 years.
She will now spend time in jail for repeatedly and inappropriately removing private information from a secure workplace while using that clearance, according to the prosecution.
According to court records, Kingsbury took and kept around 380 classified documents in total, which she kept on a variety of media, such as hard drives and compact discs.
Authorities claim that Kingsbury acknowledged keeping and discarding further documents that could have included information that was classified or connected to national defense.
“Over 20,000 documents that originated at the FBI or some other government agency were ultimately determined to have been found in the defendant’s residence,” the prosecution stated in its brief for punishment.
They continued by stating that Kingsbury had access to classified information that might have “exposed some of the most significant and closely held techniques used by the government to gather vital national security intelligence.”
The accusation made by Kingsbury’s attorney, Marc Ermine, was that his client “suffered from extensive health issues and family tragedies throughout her tenure with the FBI.” Ermine claimed that her physical and mental tiredness combined made it impossible for her to perform her job.
