Police claimed Thursday that a homeless man was charged with stabbing two individuals on the street in Hell’s Kitchen in back-to-back incidents.

Nicholas Okeefe, a Midtown shelter resident, is accused of stabbing a man and a woman in separate half-hour attacks Wednesday night.

Okeefe said nothing as he ran up with a knife and knifed his victim in each case.

Neither victim sustained severe injuries.

The first incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. on W. 50 St. near Eleventh Ave. Okeefe allegedly ran up and stabbed a 28-year-old man in the back.

A half-hour later, he allegedly sliced the chest of a 27-year-old woman three blocks away on W. 47 St. near Eleventh Ave., according to police.

The first attack victim went to Mount Sinai West, where he was expected to recover. The second victim was admitted to the same hospital and declared stable.

Okeefe was apprehended by police while going down Ninth Avenue late Wednesday night.

According to sources, he matched the description given by both victims, right down to his yellow shirt and khaki pants.

A kitchen knife was found in Okeefe’s backpack, officials added.

On two counts, Okeefe was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

A man who works in a deli frequented by the suspect described him as mentally sick and said Okeefe had been especially disturbed in the previous week.
