
A pit bull was fatally stabbed in Central Park by a person brandishing a switchblade after an altercation with the dog’s owner, according to authorities.
The German shepherd/pit bull mix Eli was being walked by his 43-year-old owner and her 51-year-old husband when the stabber, who was also walking three other dogs, came upon them, according to police sources.
When they saw the stabbing suspect at E. East Drive and 106th St. at around 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, the pair also walked a Chihuahua.
According to reports, the man’s three dogs began attacking the couple’s pets, who were both wearing leashes.
As the stabber’s canines began attacking Eli and the Chihuahua, an altercation broke out, according to the police.
Eli was fatally wounded when Eli’s walker attacked him with a switchblade as the lady attempted to separate the dogs.
The assailant fled and hasn’t been found.
