
According to authorities, a shooting early on Sunday morning at a party in St. Louis left a 17-year-old kid dead and nine other adolescents injured.
A second 17-year-old male was detained on the spot, according to local NBC station KSDK. Both were left unidentified.
According to local authorities, the young people had congregated for a party in an office building in downtown St. Louis. It’s still unknown how they got in there or why they picked it.
Soon after 1:00 a.m., shots were fired, which caused the teenagers to flee the premises and run onto the street.
According to police, six people were shot and injured: three 16-year-old females, two 19-year-old men, an 18-year-old man, a second 17-year-old boy, and two 15-year-old girls. In the commotion, a 17-year-old girl was stomped and sustained critical spine injuries, according to the police.
Authorities said that several firearms, including an assault-style rifle and at least one pistol, were discovered at the site.
Police reported that the firearm was in the possession of the 17-year-old teenager, who was detained on the spot.
No motive for the shooting has been officially conjectured by investigators. They simply mentioned that it started inside and went outside.
