According to Bill Blair, Canada’s defense minister, Hamas is not likely to adhere to a cease-fire in its battle with Israel.
Before entering a Cabinet meeting, Blair stated, “I have no expectation that a terrorist organization would respect international law or any call for a cease-fire.” Following the incident, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared that Canada is in favor of “humanitarian pauses,” which would allow for the safe delivery of aid to Gaza and the exodus of civilians.
According to Blair, Hamas remains a menace as long as it exists since it has vowed to destroy Israel. Blair stated, “I believe Israel has a right to defend itself against that terror threat.”
And quite frankly, Hamas ought to be destroyed because it poses a threat to everyone, not just Israel.
Since listing Hamas as a terrorist organization in 2002, Canada has had no contact with any of the organization’s leaders.
