According to a recent CNN poll, former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley is the only Republican hopeful for president in 2024 who could defeat Vice President Biden in the general election.
According to a survey released on Thursday, if the election were held today, prominent GOP candidates like former President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and others would be in a statistical tie with President Biden. But Nikki Haley stands out as the only contender with a significant lead in the polls.
According to the poll’s findings, Donald Trump received 47% of respondents’ support, closely followed by Vice President Biden with 46%.
These numbers are within the poll’s margin of error. Similarly, former Vice President Mike Pence’s results, which put him ahead of President Biden by 46% to 44%, were within the margin of error.
Tim Scott, a senator from South Carolina, received the same outcome as Pence, and Vivek Ramaswamy, a businessman, lagged President Biden by 45% to 46%. Both Governor DeSantis and President Biden received 47% of the vote, putting them in a tie for first place.
The margin of error was, however, exceeded by Nikki Haley, who received a strong 49% of the vote to President Biden’s 43%.
Despite this lead in general election polls, it’s important to note that in Republican primary polls, Donald Trump leads all other candidates by a wide margin.
The only Trump rival who consistently polls in the double digits is DeSantis. Nikki Haley, who previously represented the United States as ambassador to the UN under President Trump, has centered her campaign on her experience as a former governor of South Carolina and her knowledge of foreign policy.
