A 38-year-old man is accused of sexually abusing his adopted children and other youngsters.
He established a website called Our Unique Family about the nine adopted boys he claimed to be raising as Chassidic Jews as a single father.
The person was born Jeffrey Lujan Vejil and now goes by Chaim Nissim Cohen.
Chaim Nissim Cohen (also known as Jeffrey Lujan Vejil) “outlined a horrible life for the adoptive children” on February 24, which “conflicted with Cohen’s presentation of a tight-knit, pious family on social media,” the Houston Chronicle said.
Every court appearance he has made, including the one on Friday, “has allegedly exposed additional levels of dishonesty.”
“Excessive abuse is behind all of it,” asserted Janna Oswald, Harris County’s senior prosecutor for crimes against minors. The neighborhood and the individuals around the youngsters also need grooming.
The Chronicle reports that Cohen has a terminal disease and has been in court in a wheelchair.
Like many other aspects of his life, “the state of his health has been questioned by prosecutors.”
Cohen was referred to as a “false Chassidic Jew” by someone who self-identifies as a rabbi on Twitter and added that he made him suspicious after reading his social media accounts.
“Wrong Rebbe on the Wall, among other things. Payos begin in the incorrect location.
They kept strange literature on their bookcases, according to Pesach.
