
After a three-vehicle collision involving a Louisiana ambulance that killed his colleague and a patient being brought to the hospital, two individuals are dead and one paramedic is in serious condition, according to police.
Kymber Nezat, 28, and Albert Bordelon, 82, were the two people who died in the Pointe Coupee Parish collision, according to a news release posted by the Louisiana State Police on Tuesday.
The ambulance’s driver, Nezat, was allegedly following a Nissan Altima northbound on Louisiana Highway 1 when Nezat struck the Altima from behind.
As a result, the ambulance crossed into the southbound lane and struck a Kenworth tractor trailer head-on.
Despite being securely secured, Nezat and Bordelon (who was being transferred) both passed away from their wounds right there, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police.
“The Sprinter’s second rear passenger was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries from the collision.
According to authorities, the other passengers suffered only mild injuries. All drivers had a routine toxicological sample taken, which was sent for research examination, according to the police.
