A new survey, which comes after one that suggested that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would defeat Donald Trump in the Republican primary, indicates that if the presidential election were held today, DeSantis would prevail.
According to a WPA Intelligence poll, DeSantis has 45% vote, compared to 42% for Biden. DeSantis hasn’t declared his candidacy for president of the United States in 2024, whereas Trump has.
However, a recent USA Today survey found that DeSantis has a sizable lead over Trump in the GOP primary, 56% to 33%.
But the study found that if the election were held right now and Biden faced out against Donald Trump, the current president would thrash the outgoing one 49% to 41%.
The DeSantis team’s only current worry is people’s familiarity with him.
In the WPA study, nearly all respondents identified Trump and Biden, but 36% struggled to name DeSantis when a photo of him was displayed.
Of course, this could work in his favor because it gives him more time to explain his viewpoints to Americans without their preconceived notions of him getting in the way.
