The California Highway Patrol reported Monday that a guy who is thought to be the Tesla driver shown in viral videos hitting other drivers’ cars with a pipe was detained over the weekend.
According to the CHP, officers from the major crimes section detained Nathaniel Walter Radimak, 36, on Sunday concerning the attacks they suspect he conducted on January 11 while operating a Tesla Model X on State Route 2.
The CHP claimed that dashcam footage of the assaults and tips from the public sent to their department helped lead to the arrest.
The absence of a back license plate on the Tesla was evident in the video.
After the footage of the attacks from January 11, several drivers came out with their tales of being attacked.
Due to an investigation into an alleged assault with a deadly weapon and two unidentified outstanding warrants, Radimak was arrested and taken to the Los Angeles Police Department jail.
According to ABC, the initial bond was set at $5.175 million.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether Radimak had a lawyer to speak for him.
