A Palestinian terrorist, age 47, with a knife, appeared at the Mazmoria checkpoint in Jerusalem’s Har Homa neighborhood and made an attempt to stab the checkpoint’s security officers.
Before the terrorist could injure the Border Police officers stationed at the scene, he was neutralized.
The guards arrived to check the man out after noticing that he was strolling in an odd manner and had his hands behind his back. The Border Police shot the man after he pulled a knife and started to dash toward them.
This neutralized him.
The terrorist, who survived the shooting but was not killed, received medical attention there before being taken to the hospital.
The knife the terrorist was holding when he was neutralized was shown in a photo released by the police.
The incident was investigated by police, including Jerusalem Deputy Superintendent Amir Arzani, who arrived on the scene.
Following an evaluation, the officers gave the directive that police units in Jerusalem maintain their existing level of increased alertness.
