Following her revelation that he and his wife, Lara, are slated to appear at a conference with known antisemites, liberal MSNBC host Rachel Maddow faces legal action from Eric Trump.
The couple is due to appear this weekend at a ‘ReAwaken America’ Trump National Doral event in Miami, according to Maddow, who brought up the fact during her primetime program. “I can’t believe they are going ahead,” Maddow said Monday.
Trump responded on Twitter on Tuesday, saying that Maddow was “walking a fine line” because his family was “the most pro-Israel family in American political history” and that Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and their kids were Jewish.
If [Maddow] or anyone else even slightly implies that I am anti-Semitic, I will not think twice to take legal action against them.”
According to Maddow, Scott McKay and Charlie Ward endorsed Adolf Hitler and displayed anti-Semitic sentiments.
At the event on Friday and Saturday, Eric Trump, his wife Lara, and “a whole bunch of other Trump administration folks” will also speak, according to Maddow.
Jason Greenblatt, a prominent Trump strategist and orthodox Jew who spent decades working for the Trump organization, vehemently defended Eric on Twitter as a person who appreciates Jews.
Greenblatt blasted Maddow’s inference regarding the Trumps while stating his opposition to antisemites appearing at the same conference.
Greenblatt tweeted: “I believe I am the only person in the world who can say: (1) I am an observant Jew, (2) who has worked for @RealDonaldTrump for nearly 23 years, (3) I never witnessed any antisemitism from him or his family, and (4) quite the opposite: President Trump,@DonaldJTrumpJr, @EricTrump & @IvankaTrump were ALWAYS respectful of me being an observant Jew.
