On Saturday night, a second Powerball drawing came to a close without a winner, pushing the jackpot to an estimated $900 million.
The winning combination for the drawing on Saturday consisted of the white balls 2, 9, 43, 55, and 57 and the red Powerball 18.
The estimated value of the jackpot was $875 million. One of two prizes up for grabs for Monday’s selection is a $465.1 million lump sum before taxes or $900 million paid out in annual installments.
According to a statement released by Powerball early on Sunday, the top reward is the third-largest Powerball jackpot and the seventh-largest in American lottery history.
Although there was no jackpot winner, Powerball said that three tickets—two in Texas and one in Colorado—that matched all five white balls on Saturday are eligible to claim $1 million in rewards.
Until someone wins, the jackpot will keep increasing. The game’s pitifully low chances of 1 in 292.2 million are intended to create large jackpots that entice additional players. In November, a $2.04 billion prize was won on the Powerball.
The most recent Powerball jackpot winner received a top prize of roughly $253 million on April 19. Since that time, there have been 37 straight drawings without a grand prize winner.
In 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the United States, Powerball is played. Caribbean islands.
