Since October 14, it had been the 21st Mega Millions drawing without a winner. The following drawing will happen on Friday evening.
The Mega Ball was 11, while the winning numbers on Tuesday were 9, 13, 36, 59, and 61.
Five people each won $1 million by matching the first five balls. One in 302.6 million is the chance of winning the ultimate prize.
The final jackpot of the year will be the second-largest in Mega Millions history.
In Illinois, a winning ticket worth $1.34 billion was purchased in late July.
The recipient opted to keep their identity a secret and held off on accepting their award until September.
They took the $780.5 million cash payout in one big sum.
Mega Millions projected the lump sum payout for Friday’s drawing to be $328.3 million.
If the winner wants to obtain a total of $640 million, they must do it through a 29-year annuity.
The Mega Millions lottery, which began in 2002 and is now played in 45 states, has had six jackpots totaling $640 million.
A single winner in South Carolina scooped the most fabulous Mega Millions prize of $1.54 billion in October 2018.
The largest U.S. lottery win ever was awarded in November thanks to Powerball, which paid out $2.04 billion.
