Veteran A-lister Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin could face criminal charges after he accidentally shoot dead a 42-year-old lady cinematographer and injured his director with a ‘hot gun’ in a New Mexico film set Thursday afternoon.
In the initial police investigation, Baldwin was filming his upcoming western film “Rust” at Bonanza Creek Ranch in Sante Fe around 2 p.m. when the prop gun that was given to him accidentally fired killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, and injuring director Joel Souza, 48.
Baldwin was shocked by the deadly accident and could not understand why he was given a real gun on the set.
Due to the tragedy, the film set was sent into lockdown, and production was halted immediately.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office is now conducting a deeper investigation on the shooting incident as of the moment.
