According to Israel Police Chief Kobi Shabtai, the murder of an 84-year-old woman in Holon who was found dead with signs of trauma on Tuesday appears to be a terrorist assault.
The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and the Special Patrol Unit are investigating, and Israel Police are seeking the culprit.
Police got security footage showing a man clad in dark clothing attacking the woman with an object in his hand.
Musa Sarsur, a 28-year-old Arab from Kalkilya, was recognized as the suspect by police.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the police’s 100 hotlines.
“We’re after a brutal attack. It appears that this was likely a terrorist incident at the moment,” Shabtai said.
“The suspect is known to us, and we are currently searching near and far to locate the suspect,” Shabtai added.
The incident occurred during a recent surge of terrorist assaults and attempted terrorist attacks in Israel and the West Bank.
Earlier last month, police in Jaffa apprehended a Palestinian carrying a pistol and pipe bombs, which he meant to use in a massive terrorist attack in Tel Aviv.
Earlier in the day, bullets were fired at Border Patrol agents at the Salem Base along the Seam Line.
Shots were fired again toward soldiers near the Seam Line near Faqqu’a in the northern West Bank in the afternoon.
There were no injuries reported in either incident, and Israeli forces are looking for the criminals.
