On Tuesday night, a lottery winner in Florida claimed the highest payout in Mega Millions history, which is believed to be worth $1.58 billion.

13, 19, 20, 32, 33, and the gold Mega Ball 14 were the winning numbers.

A large $1.58 billion prize paid out in yearly installments or a one-time cash option for an estimated $783.3 million are the options available to the purchaser of the winning ticket.

According to the lottery, it just outperformed the previous record of $1.537 billion, which was sold in South Carolina in 2018.

It is the highest jackpot reward in Mega Millions history. According to News4JAX, the $1 billion ticket was sold inside a Publix grocery store in Neptune Beach, Florida.

The third-largest jackpot in lottery history was awarded on Tuesday. Last November, Californian Edwin Castro won the $2.04 billion Powerball, making him the lottery player with the biggest payment ever.

The $1.586 prize was split by three ticket buyers from Tennessee, Florida, and California in January 2016. For matching all five white balls, tickets from California, Pennsylvania, Texas, and West Virginia earned $1 million. When a winning ticket worth $20 million was sold in Syracuse, New York, on April 18, Mega Millions announced its most recent jackpot winner.

The likelihood of a Mega Millions player winning the jackpot in any drawing is 1 in 302,575,350.
