According to the head of Argentina’s embassy in Israel, one of the youngest hostages being held captive by Hamas in Gaza is a 9-month-old Argentine infant.
“A nine-month-old infant from Argentina is the youngest hostage, Francisco Tropepi said in an interview with Vis á Vis, a news source specializing in reporting on Israel and the Jewish community in Argentina. “It’s really tough to talk about such terrible things.
Tropepi withheld the child’s identity. Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero stated in a radio broadcast on Friday morning that there are still 21 Argentine individuals missing and believed to be being held captive by Hamas. The conflict is thought to have claimed the lives of nine Argentines.
Cafiero said, adding that he has spoken with the U.N., “In some cases, we have precise information that they have been captured, and in other cases, we’ve been actively searching for them.”
To request his help in the release of the Argentine hostages being detained in the Gaza Strip, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres wrote to him.
