The arrest comes after the early Shabbat morning attack in which Dumervil allegedly crossed a street and punched a 21-year-old Hasidic man in the face at Troy Ave. and Carroll St. Following the unprovoked antisemitic incident, the Anti-Defamation League offered up to $5,000 for information about the person responsible for the attack.
The victim was identified as a yeshiva student whose eyeglasses were broken and face was lacerated during the sudden attack.
As reported by local Jewish media, Dumervil has not been slapped with hate crime charges due to the fact that he is emotionally disturbed.
