While the global community is standing against the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, Hamas stuck to its vile stance in congratulating the Islamic organization for a supposed victory against the US, not keeping in mind the massive uncertainty that Afghanistan civilians are currently facing.
On Monday, the Hamas terror group congratulated the Taliban for pushing out the United States and even overtaking Kabul after two decades of fighting. In an official statement, Hamas said it “congratulates the Taliban movement and its courageous leadership on this victory, which was the culmination of its long struggle over the past 20 years. The Afghan Muslim people and its leadership succeed in achieving unity, stability, and prosperity. It proved the resistance of the peoples—foremost of which is our struggling Palestinian people—is destined for victory.”
The Taliban, on Sunday, took control of Afghanistan’s capital city Kabul and assumed power at the Presidential palace. Sonn afterward, hundreds of Afghani citizens fled to the airport in the hopes of escaping an extremist regime where lives were in danger, and women are treated miserably.
Amidst the chaos at the airport, seven Afghanis ended up losing their lives, and several countries are now running rescue operations for their respective citizens.
