Numerous Jewish pilgrims who had arrived in Nablus early on Thursday morning to attend services at Joseph’s Tomb came under attack.
About 40 buses carrying worshippers arrived at the site, which was guarded by IDF troops.
Local terrorists began firing at the soldiers throughout the prayer service, as well as hurling explosive devices, stones, and Molotov cocktails.
The soldiers exchanged fire and reported seeing some of the terrorist assailants with injuries. Neither the security personnel nor the worshipers suffered any injuries.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Badr al-Masri, 19, was killed in the gunfight, and three other Palestinians were injured, including two who were in critical condition.
Al-Masri is a terrorist linked to Lions’ Den, which claimed that he was “killed while fighting against the occupation forces and the settlers who came to Joseph’s tomb.”
Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai took part in the prayers at the tomb for the first time and personally guided the family of Moishi Kleinerman, 17, who has been missing for more than 480 days after leaving for Meron and becoming missing, to the grave.
Other attendees included Itamar Ben-Gvir’s assistant, Chanamel Dorfman, and Rabbi Mordechai Gross from Bnei Brak.
