Unexpectedly, a well-known and legendary kosher eatery in Baltimore announced that it would be closing.
A statement on Dougie’s BBQ & Grill’s official Facebook page states that last Thursday was its last day of business.
Many people in the Baltimore community were shocked by the decision, which was made after the restaurant had been serving the area’s frum population for more than 12 years.
The final announcement said:
To Loyal Dougies Customers, Patrons, and Fans
It is difficult and unfortunate to write this, but after 12+ wonderful years in the amazing Baltimore community, we are saddened to announce that, due to circumstances beyond our control, Dougies BBQ and Grill will be closing its doors at 10 p.m. on Thursday, 09/21/23.
For all of you who would like to get your last licks of the food you have enjoyed for over a decade, please come on by until closing tonight for one last Hurrah.
We have truly enjoyed bringing you the foods you enjoy and serving this wonderful community.
You never know—we may see you all again soon!
There are numerous Dougie’s BBQ and Grill franchise sites, many of which are in the New York region. When the first Dougie’s restaurant debuted in Manhattan in the 1990s, it completely changed the kosher food sector.
The Jewish community was introduced to a new level of elegance by Dougie’s delectable ribs, poppers, special sauces, blossoming onions, and many more legendary menu items over the course of several decades.
