
According to a report on Wednesday by Israel’s Public Broadcasting Service, Kan Reshet Bet, the Palestinian Authority is considering filing for bankruptcy.
The judgment would result in P.A. being shut down entirely. government buildings, perhaps causing unrest in Judea and Samaria, as the P.A. in the territories it controls, is the major employer.
According to the news source, several Palestinian security officers have already tendered their resignations and are searching for employment in the private sector.
They have been getting 80% of their salary in recent months, and many of them have accrued debt, which causes the banks to cancel their accounts.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, recently assured a Knesset subcommittee that the Palestinian Authority would not be allowed to fail.

And we don’t want it to fall,” Netanyahu reportedly responded, according to Kan.
As the P.A. indicates that tensions are already high in Judea and Samaria. It looks to be practically out of control in northern Samaria, and the level of violence has significantly grown.
Following a string of incidents, including a terror attack near the Samaria community of Eli on June 20 that killed four Israelis and an Israeli military operation in Jenin that encountered fierce resistance and necessitated the unusual use of an Apache gunship to ensure soldiers’ safe extraction, more right-wing members of Netanyahu’s coalition have called for a tougher military response.
