A member of the U.S. Army died on Tuesday after a bear attacked him at Alaska’s Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
In the initial investigation by the U.S. Army, the victim was training near the Anchorage Regional Landfill when the bear attacked.
The Alaska Wildlife troopers are now hunting down the bear involved in the attack.
Sources said the bear who attacked the soldier could be black or grizzly.
A deeper investigation of the incident is now underway.
