The White House stated that President Joe Biden will commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the greatest terrorist attack to occur on American soil at a military installation in Alaska with service men and their families.

According to an Associated Press analysis of media coverage of these events, it will be the first time a president has skipped any of the observances that have been held annually in New York City, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, close to Washington.

After attending a conference in New Delhi with other world leaders and visiting Vietnam on September 10, Biden will make a detour in Alaska for the 9/11 Commemoration at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage on his way back to Washington.

The National September 11 Memorial and Museum in Lower Manhattan will host its yearly memorial, and Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff will take part. Jill Biden, the first lady, will place a wreath at the Pentagon’s 9/11 monument.

On September 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked commercial aircraft and crashed them into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, as well as the Twin Towers in the financial sector of New York City.

After the passengers resisted, a fourth aircraft came down in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The attacks resulted in the Deaths of about 3,000 Individuals.

At the time, Biden was a senator from the US. The White House has not revealed, which representative will take part in the Pennsylvania celebration.
