Bloody Tuesday: 4 Bystanders Shot At Queens Park, And 2 Shot In Harlem

On Tuesday night, four innocent bystanders, including two teens were shot during an altercation between two armed men at the London Planetree Playground in Queens.

According to the NYPD, the victims were near the handball court inside the playground when the shooters opened fire at each other at about 6:20 p.m. The hail of bullets struck four unintended targets. The youngest victims, a 15-year-old girl, and a 16-year-old boy were shot in the left leg and lower back respectively, sources said.

A 20-year-old man was shot twice in the right leg and once in the left leg and transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. And a 32-year-old man was shot once in the left ankle, according to the sources. He was also taken to Jamaica Hospital. The teens were taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park.

Luckily, according to the NYPD, all four victims are expected to make full recoveries, but one of the suspects is believed to have fled in a black Mercedes Benz SUV.

In the second incident, an innocent female bystander was among two people shot when an argument turned violent in Harlem on Tuesday afternoon. Enta Diaw, a street vendor, took a bullet to her left leg around 3:30 p.m. at 215 W. 125th Street, and was rushed to Harlem Hospital where she is expected to survive, police said.

The other victim, 20, was shot in the right leg after he and the gunman got into a verbal dispute, police and sources said. He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital and also expected to live, police said.

The suspect was still on the loose Tuesday evening, police said.
