Caught on camera, a supposed hate crime occurred in Crown Heights on Friday night wherein a young bochur was punched in the face by a seemingly deranged individual.
Immediately after the incident occurred, the Crown Heights Shomrim was called to assist in locating the suspect, and an investigation into the incident is continuing. According to the NYPD Hate Crimes Unit, the 21year-old victim, who was dressed in traditional Hassidic clothing, was punched in the nose, and the task force has launched an investigation into the assault.
As it stands, the incident occurred on Carroll Street at approximately 1:20 am, and the bochur, having suffered a cut to the face and his glasses broken, fled to Troy Ave, in the fear that the assailant must be chasing him.
The Hate Crimes Unit has asked for help identifying the attacker.
