In another shocking incident in Crown Heights, a Jewish man was shot with a pellet gun, in an unprovoked drive-by attack.
On Monday night, at around 10:30 PM, a 23-year-old Bochur was shot on Montgomery Street near Albany Avenue, when a bullet was fired from a passing SUV. The pellet struck the victim as he was walking down the street, and injured his head and leg.
An eyewitness reported the crime to the police as soon as the victim was seen falling down and screaming in pain. Hatzalah, police and Shomrim immediately reached the scene and transported the Buchur to the nearest Methodist hospital.
The hate crimes unit has taken over the investigation, but the police have maintained that the attacker did not say anything to the victim prior to the attack. Shomrim are assisting the NYPD by gathering all nearby security camera footage.
If you have any information which can assist the investigation, please call 911 and the Crown Heights Shomrim 24 hour emergency hotline at 718-774-3333.
