Bomb Scare At Ben Gurion Airport After Passenger Brings Along Empty Rocket Shell

Havoc raged at the Ben Gurion Airport in Israel on Thursday after a passenger entered the premise with a rocket shell- which was later discerned as empty and harmless.

As it stands, a family had visited Ramat HaGolan during their trip to Israel, during which they came across rocket fragments from projectiles that had been previously fired into Israel, presumably from Lebanon. The family took one of the shells of a rocket as a souvenir, planning to bring it home with them as a memento from their trip.

But little did they know that this would lead to a tumultuous scene at the Tel Aviv airport. During their security screening at Ben Gurion, a momentary misunderstanding occurred, leading to a report of a bomb at the airport to be announced, which prompted travelers to panic, run, and hide.

After several minutes, security ascertained that there was no threat of an explosion occurring, and explained to everyone that there was no danger to them and that they could return to their places in line. According to the Israeli Airports Authority, after the family was questioned, they were allowed to get on their flight (without the bomb).

It was also reported that a man who fell during the emergency evacuation was lightly injured and taken to a hospital for treatment.
