
A knife attack on an Israeli border policeman who was inspecting a bus near the Shoafat checkpoint in northern Jerusalem on Monday evening resulted in his death.
The security officers neutralized the terrorist, a 13-year-old refugee camp inhabitant, and took him into custody to be questioned.
According to the initial findings of the inquiry, a soldier and a civilian security officer were conducting a regular inspection of a bus when a 13-year-old terrorist suddenly drew a knife and assaulted the soldier.
To neutralize the terrorist, the civilian security guard accompanying the fighter fired back, hitting the soldier as well, according to reports.
The injured soldier was sent to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital, where he was later declared dead.
The first volunteer EMT from United Hatzalah, Nachum Yozvitz, reported that a young man was badly hurt while riding a bus.
When additional EMTs and we removed him from the bus, he was unresponsive and not breathing.
We started performing CPR immediately, maintaining it as we drove him to the hospital in an ambulance designed for intensive care.
