WARN YOUR CHILDREN NEVER TO TALK TO STRANGERS!
Following the kidnapping of a young child this morning in Bensonhurst, Shomrim is appealing to all parents to talk to their children about the dangers of talking to strangers.
In this morning’s unfortunate incident, the girl had left her home headed to her Day Camp just after 8 am when moments later an unknown individual approached her and took her into his nearby apartment. The perpetrator has since been taken into custody.
Below are some important tips to discuss with your children
- If your children are walking to/from Day Camp/School have them walk in groups rather than alone whenever possible.
- Remind your children never to talk to or approach anyone they don’t know.
- Warn your children never to get into a car with a stranger no matter how Frum the person looks
- If someone approaches your child and tries to persuade them to go along, they should scream for help.
As always, if you witness anything that doesn’t seem right or if you’re a victim of a crime, immediately call the Boro Park Shomrim hotline at 718-871-6666
