The Fourth of July celebration turned bloody for a man in Florida.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office responded to a South Florida gas station around 1 a.m. Saturday after reports of a fireworks explosion.
The police revealed a man who reportedly lost his hand due to the explosion had already been transported to the hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the man is now in stable condition, but doctors could not reattach his blown hand.
A deeper investigation into the incident is now underway.
The data from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission states that between 2006 and 2021, fireworks-related injuries rose by 25% in the U.S.
In 2021 alone, at least nine people died, and an estimated 11,500 were injured in incidents involving fireworks.
