
According to the police chief, an apartment fire early on Friday in Hartland’s Wisconsin municipality claimed seven people’s lives.
Police Chief Torin Misko stated at a morning news conference that “the Hartland Police Department is actively investigating this as a criminal matter.”
It is unknown what started the fire at the four-unit apartment building.
According to him, numerous police and fire services assisted in evacuating people from the building and balconies.
He didn’t know if there were any further injuries.
Milwaukee is 42 kilometers (26 miles) west of Hartland.
