Target canceled a batch of animal crackers after the metal wire was discovered in the munchies.
The Food and Drug Administration advised last week that Market Pantry White Fudge Animal Cookies, with a sell-by date of February 21, 2023, should not be ingested.
Because they come in a bear-shaped container and are covered in white icing, the fudge animal crackers are easy to distinguish.
There were no other animal crackers recalled.
D.F. Stauffer said the recall was made after the metal wire was discovered in some of the cookies. There have been no reports of injuries or illnesses.
The FDA advised anyone who purchased the crackers to stop eating them and return them to Target for a full refund.
