
On Tuesday, the Sacramento Police Department arrested a second suspect in connection to the weekend Sacramento shooting that left six people dead and 12 others injured.
The Sacramento Police Department identified the suspect as Smiley Martin, 27, charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a machine gun.
Martin’s 26-year-old brother Dandrae was arrested Monday and charged with assault with a firearm and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
According to reports, Dandrae has a lengthy criminal history, including felony aggravated assault and multiple domestic violence charges.
Sources said Smiley Martin suffered “serious injuries from gunfire” at the scene of the shooting and was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
While under medical treatment, the police identified him as a person of interest and were kept him under guard by an officer.
After his treatment, Smiley will be booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail.
The local police identified the slain victims in the deadly shooting as Johntaya Alexander, 21; Melinda Davis, 57; Yamile Martinez-Andrade, 21; Sergio Harris, 38; Joshua Hoye-Lucchesi, 32; and Devazia Turner, 29.
