The NYPD arrested a 13-year-old boy who threatened a group of Jewish children with a sword on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
The suspect personally surrendered to the police at the 20th Precinct stationhouse with a parent on Wednesday afternoon after images of him and his friends in connection with the Saturday evening clash on W. 86th St. and West End Ave went public.
The NYPD said the suspect is the same person who brandished a short sword as he and his friends harassed a group of six Jewish children ranging in age from 12 to 16.
The NYPD said that the other persons who wielded a knife and a crowbar remain at large.
The NYPD revealed the suspects told the victims, “You’re Jewish, we’re going to come to get you.”
Moreover, the NYPD said they charged the suspect with aggravated harassment, weapons possession, and menacing before taking him to family court, where he will be prosecuted as a juvenile.
