
The NYPD is now hunting down a shooter who unleashed a hail of bullets at Brooklyn’s famed Coney Island boardwalk early Sunday morning, wounding five people, one of them critically.
The NYPD said the nameless suspect opened fire on a crowd standing near W. 20th St. on the Reigelmann Boardwalk at about 2 in the morning.
The NYPD revealed they were able to get 28 shell casings on the scene.
The NYPD said a 31-year-old man who was hit in the attack is now in critical condition at Coney Island Hospital after being shot in the back.
Another 19-year-old victim was also rushed to the same hospital with a gunshot to his left leg.
Moreover, the other three victims went to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn: two women, ages 27 and 26, were shot in the left leg, and a 36-year-old man was shot in the chin.
The latest hospital advisory stated that all three were in stable condition.
A deeper investigation of the shooting is now underway.
