On Sunday, the Danish police said several people were killed due to a shooting incident at a Copenhagen shopping mall, one of the largest in Scandinavia.
The local police said one possible suspect in the shooting incident at the Field’s shopping mall, which is close to the city’s airport, is already in their custody.
Copenhagen Mayor Sophie H. Andersen expressed sadness over the incident in a tweet.
“Terrible reports of shooting in the fields. We do not yet know for sure how many were injured or killed, but it is very serious, “Anderson tweeted.
According to reports, the shopping center is on the outskirts of Copenhagen, just across from a subway line that connects the city center with the international airport.
It was also reported that a major highway runs adjacent to Fields, which opened in 2004.
Moreover, the Royal Police said shortly after the shooting that the reception with Crown Prince Frederik connected to the Tour de France cycling race had been canceled.
The reception was connected to the first three stages of the race that will be held in Denmark this year.
Before the cancellation, the reception was due to be held on the royal yacht that is moored in Soenderborg, the town where the third stage ended.
