Two years since the virus entered the United States, a top government medical official declared on Tuesday that the country is no longer in the “pandemic phase” of COVID-19.
Dr. Anthony Fauci revealed that the US is no longer in the pandemic phase since the government’s vaccination program is already in full swing, and many Americans have received second booster shots.
“We are certainly, right now, in this country out of the pandemic phase,” Fauci said.
Namely, we don’t have 900,000 new infections a day and tens and tens and tens of thousands of hospitalizations and thousands of deaths. We are at a low level right now,” Fauci added.
Despite his statement, Fauci clarified that we cannot eradicate the virus yet and that the global crisis on COVID remains.
“Pandemic means a widespread, throughout the world, an infection that spreads rapidly among people,” he said.
“So, if you look at the global situation, there’s no doubt this pandemic is still ongoing,” he added.
