The office of Speaker Nancy Pelosi revealed on Thursday that she has tested positive for COVID-19.
Drew Hamill, Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff, said that the 82-year-old California Democrat would isolate under federal health guidelines due to her infection.
“After testing negative this week, Speaker Pelosi received a positive test result for COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic,” Hammill wrote Twitter.
“The Speaker is fully vaccinated and boosted and is thankful for the robust protection the vaccine has provided,” Hammill added.
Hammill said Pelosi wants Americans to test frequently and complete their vaccinations and receive booster shots.
