Who says cops are spared from violent crimes?
On early Monday, a lady NYPD police officer was stabbed dead by her estranged husband in her Bronx apartment.
The NYPD said the victim, 31 was off duty when stabbed multiple times inside her home on Grand Concourse near E. 156th St. at about 2:50 in the morning.
The NYPD added despite her wounds, the victim still managed to call her cousin, who immediately contacted 911.
The 911 medics tried their best to save her, but their efforts were futile.
Based on the NYPD record, the victim, who joined the NYPD in April 2019 and was assigned to a transit district in Brooklyn, had a 3-year-old son with the suspect.
The NYPD said the suspect, 34, had already turned himself in and is being questioned.
Charges are now being readied against the suspect, who has yet to be named by the NYPD.
