Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) drew flack from his own party mates after he called for the assassination of Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
“The only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out,” Graham tweeted.
“You would be doing your country – and the world – a great service,” Graham said in another tweet.
The statement of Graham did not sit well with some Republican members.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) called Graham “irresponsible, dangerous & unhinged.”
“We need leaders with calm minds & steady wisdom,” MTG tweeted.
Is there a Brutus in Russia? Is there a more successful Colonel Stauffenberg in the Russian military?
The only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out.
You would be doing your country – and the world – a great service.

“Not bloodthirsty warmongering politicians trying to tweet tough by demanding assassinations,” MTG added in another tweet.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) for his part chided Graham for floating “an exceptionally bad idea.”
“We should not be calling for the assassination of heads of state,” Cruz tweeted.
