It looks like Elon Musk is set to take over the management of Twitter anytime soon.
Sources said the board of directors of Twitter has softened their stance and is set to make a deal with the Tesla CEO.
Media reports said that a deal could come as early as Monday “if negotiations go smoothly.”
At the moment, Musk has yet to reveal his immediate plans for Twitter once he takes over the management of the widely popular social media application.
“I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter because free speech means,” Musk tweeted Monday afternoon.
Musk’s bid to take over Twitter was filed on April 14 with an all-cash offer worth $43.4 billion.
“Since making my investment, I now realize the company will neither thrive nor serve this societal imperative in its current form,” the 50-year-old billionaire wrote in the filing.
“Twitter has extraordinary potential. I will unlock it,” Musk added.
