The White House revealed on Tuesday afternoon that Vice President Kamala Harris has tested positive for COVID.
Kirsten Allyn, the vice president’s press secretary, said Harris, 57, tested positive on rapid and PCR diagnostics, has not recently had close contact with President Biden, 79, due to their travel schedules.
“She will follow CDC guidelines and the advice of her physicians,” Allen said in a statement.
“The Vice President will return to the White House when she tests negative,” Allen added.
Sources said Biden is fully vaccinated and has received two booster shots.
Biden also has not had a COVID diagnosis during the pandemic.
