Boro Park – On Wednesday night, August 23, at around 9:30 PM, a Chinese takeout delivery driver was robbed at knifepoint on 42nd Street between 16th and 17th Avenues in Boro Park. The driver had received a delivery request to a Jewish-owned address, but upon arrival, two masked individuals, believed to be of Mexican descent, confronted him with a knife, demanding all his money.

Newly released surveillance footage provides a comprehensive view of the entire robbery, starting from the moment the thieves were on standby, ready and waiting for the delivery driver to arrive. In the video, you can observe the perpetrators absconding with all of the delivery driver’s cash and attempting to make their getaway using the driver’s bicycle.

As the driver began to sprint away from the scene, he inadvertently retained the bike’s key, which prompted the assailants to chase after him briefly. Realizing they couldn’t catch up without drawing attention, they abruptly changed direction and went in the opposite direction. Fortunately, the driver did not sustain any injuries. The food order was placed via a prepaid phone at a nearby Chinese takeout restaurant, while the knife and clothing used by the culprits were discovered abandoned in a local backyard.

The NYPD & Boro Park Shomrim is actively investigating the incident and urging anyone with information to come forward.
