In what detectives believe to have been a strongarm robbery that devolved into violence, a chosson was discovered dead in his car on Sunday near North Miami Beach.
A Lakewood wedding was scheduled for next Wednesday for Hershy Schwartz z”l, a 39-year-old inhabitant of North Miami Beach.
At some point throughout the night, he was shot and died in a parking lot at the intersection of 1st Avenue and 167th Street in North Miami.
He was discovered there on Sunday morning.
Hershy z”l was a longstanding ben bayis at the residence of Rabbi Marc Rosenberg, chairman of Chesed Shel Emes of Florida and a longtime active member of Chesed Shel Emes and Chaverim of South Florida (FL-18).
The Hershy family is Nickolsburger chassidim, and Hershy z”l is the son of R’ Nuchem Schwartz of Monsey.
